If you're making your own wedding bouquets how far in advance can they be done?

I am planning on making my carnation bouquets no more than 2 days before. Unless you have proper refrigeration to keep the flowers in, they won't keep for over a week... My suggestion is to make a practice bouquet (smaller and cheaper than your real one) and see how long it lasts, then judge the time for yourself!
