How do I obtain a divorce in the US, if I married in India?

Is this possible? Proceedings were underway for an annulment in india via the courts. But he couldnt back his claims up with evidence, so the case was thrown out. This was two years ago. But now I wonder if I can file for a divorce here, n get one w/o giving him any $. He wants an annulment, n proceedings in india r underway for him to get one. But I just want a divorce. I wonder which is faster, here or in india. I hear it's faster in the states, but I wonder if I can get one quickly w/o his consent(not sure if he'll consent w/o demands being met).
