Pills continuously are getting stuck in my throat?

So about a year ago I took a very small pill and I felt as if it didn't go down, and it hurt. I was up half the night chugging water and trying to get it down but nothing worked. This happened a few more times and then stopped. Now I have the occasional pill that feels as if it doesn't go down, but I got the flu a few days ago and from the very start, any pill I take seems to get stuck. I can taste the medicine in my mouth when I drink and if I suck back very hard I can feel a lump come back. I've been able to wiggle some pills lose and swallow them, so I can't imagine that it is this "fantom pill" or bruising that some people say it is. I went to my doctor and told her about it a few months ago because its really bothering me and she looked all confused and just blew me off. Whats going onnn!? This is a huge bother.
