HELP! ADVICE! I NEED A GUYS ADVICE! ITS AN EMERGENCY!?

There is this guy I REALLY like. He is a grade younger than me and very cute. Prom is coming up and nobody has asked me yet and he is to young to go unless he is an “escort.” Ie goes w/ someone a grade older (like me). We met almost a year ago at the first school dance and there was a person teaching everyone to waltz so everybody had to find a partner so a lady brought him over and said, “you two can dance, you are both tall.” So we danced and he asked me questions and he started conversation, but I did not look him in the eyes cuz I was too shy, and I think he didn’t look me in the eyes either. But when the instructor was giving lessons he dropped hands. Later we both joined soccer and he was super good and got most valuable player award, but I never played it before so I looked dorky. I felt like I embared myself a lot. It turned out that he is popular in his grade and a lot of girls like him and he flirts with a lot of girls. I am not super popular – I’m average, but I’m 5’9” and thin and curvy and people say I’m pretty – prettier than the girls he flirts with. I was going to wait for senior year cuz then I have nothing to loose if I ask him out, But it turns out hes changing schools next year. I really want to ask him out but then everyone would kno and I’d feel stupid, Especially if he said no. WHAT SHOULD I DO?????
