Why does God have a counterpart?

To be a bit more succinct; the Ancient Hebrew word Sa' Tan translate into English as Adversary. Just by being an adversary does not make any entity Evil. Lucifer is not Hebrew, it is Latin, so how could it have been around for the Old Testament All of the Hebrew God's Adversaries were created by the Hebrew God and those that told of these adversaries.
